Over the years, Google Forms has added a range of features that cater to various needs. Whether it's adding a specific file type or adding conditional logic to questions, you'll discover many options. Though these features turn out to be quite useful, they often hit the wall. For instance, Google Forms doesn't let you add a time limit to forms nor does it automatically close a form after a specific number of responses. It didn't at the time of writing this post.
Thankfully, we have add-ons to fill these gaps. If you're a teacher or an administrator who is looking for Google Forms add-ons, you have come to the right place. These add-ons below let you do plenty of things like analyzing your student's responses, creating time-bound quizzes or closing the form's responses after a particular time.
This nifty add-on gives you two options. You can either select to limit the number of responses that a particular form can accept, or you can specify the date and time, after which the form will stop taking responses.
Once you have added it to your Google Forms, you need to activate it through the Add-on section.
How to Limit Responses in Google Forms
When the form reaches the threshold value, users will see a 'Not accepting Responses' message on their screens. The good news is, as a surveyor you can always disable this message view through the Responses tab on your form, should you feel the need to extend the time a little more. If you want to dynamically populate the questions on your form from an already available Google Sheets spreadsheet, formRanger is the add-on for you.
The question type can range from lists and MCQs to grid questions. All you need to do is save a spreadsheet with the questions beforehand. Having prepared your form structure, enable the formRanger by clicking on the add-on icon at the upper-right corner. Now, click on the Plus icon to link your spreadsheet to the form. The rest of the process is quite simple with self-explanatory buttons.
The good thing about it is that you can choose to change the questions every hour or after the form has been submitted.
Clever, right? Email Notifications for Forms is more then just more than a simple notifier. Firstly, it doubles up as a nifty form limiter. Secondly, you can set various rules for form submission.
For example, you can opt to receive notifications if a form has only one particular type of answer. Other than that, you can also choose to receive mobile notifications or to keep the form open to the public during a specific time. In a nutshell, this add-on has many features which will come in handy if you are a power user of Google Forms.
Next, we have Timify. This add-on brings time-bound forms to the table. For example, if you're creating a quiz which needs to be wrapped within five minutes, this smart add-on makes it possible.
However, unlike the add-ons above, using Timify. Plus, it's usually not recommended if you have a large group of students since it creates a custom link for everyone which can be a little challenging to distribute in the long run.
But if not, let me tell you that Timify. Once the account is verified, go back to Forms and create a quiz on a new form. Next, activate the add-on by clicking on the Add-on icon. Add the time and hit the Create button. The next screen will show the links next to the names. You just have to copy the links and share the same. Sure the Responses tab of your Google Forms creates beautiful graphs and charts.
However, if you want to add a dash of customization, you can turn to the Advanced Summary by Awesome Table add-on.Ayuda de Google. Centro de asistencia Comunidad Editores de Documentos. How to Limit Responses in Google Forms
That's why it is a popular choice among similar services for polls and surveys. The simple interface means that anyone with a valid Gmail account can create a form or post a response. At times surveyors can get inundated with responses, especially if you have posted the link on a social media platform like Instagram or Twitter. In this post today, we will explore three methods.
Yep, Google Forms has a nifty feature which lets you stop accepting responses whenever you want. All you have to do is go to the Responses tab of your form and disable the switch for Accepting responses.
The problem with this method is you have to manually toggle the switch off each time a form reaches a certain threshold.Monitoring Online Exams and Strategies to Reduce Cheating
Not to mention the time wasted while monitoring the number of entries. The aptly-named formLimiter add-on brings plenty of customization features to the humble 'Accepting responses' switch of Google Forms. Nifty, right? Similar to other add-ons, installing formLimiter is simple.
Once you open a form, tap on the three-dot button at the upper-right corner and select Add-ons which will open the window for Add-ons. To limit responses, create your form, click on the Add-ons button and select fromLimiter. Next, pick the limit type.
If you want to stop accepting responses after a certain time, the date and time is the option to go with. Else, select the second one. At the same time, do check the email option. That is a simple hack which will let you know once the limit has been reached, thus saving you from wasting time on checking up on responses. Yep, that's the name of the add-on. This one goes a step further then formLimiter and lets you add the start time of the quiz or the survey.
For instance, if you want the survey to take place after two days, this add-on lets you do so.
Other then that, it has the usual features like adding the end date, time or the number of submissions. To use this add-on, activate it via the Add-on icon. Now, uncheck the 'Start immediately' checkbox and enter the time and date when you want the survey or quiz to start.
At the same time, add the Stop criteria and a custom message if you want. Once done, hit the Save and Implement button. Yep, this little add-on helps put a stopwatch on your Google Forms and comes in handy when preparing time-bound quizzes or mini-tests. However, Timify. It has an interface of its own, and when you enable the add-on on a particular formthe same form would be visible on Timify's interface. The good news is that Timify.
